For SEO enthusiast, this is a very good news. Legacy SEO plugins somehow easier to implement, but needs more server resources . They use preg_match and hundreds of lines of code just to replace the main title.
In the other way, GHP SEO which is lighter in the sense of server and arguably better in the sense of customization needs a hard-coded script. Calotropis theme make GHP SEO installment easy. No need hard-coding, because it’s already hard-coded. Just enjoy it.

Different types of author meta.
Now, you can select what types of author meta to be displayed. with link or without link .. something like that

easy hide/show “allowed tags”, “post trackback link” and “post comment feed link”.
A lot of people asking about how to remove this and that, so i include this.

Removing timthumb.
Some say that timthumb is insecure. And i think, too much little our user using this functionality, so it’s a good idea to remove the script. Images with direct URL will be resized in browser, not by timthumb script.

Calotropis theme version 1.2.7 is now live. It includes many bugfix from previous version.

What’s new in Calotropis 1.2.7 from 1.2.4:

- Adding comment_form() functionality.

Tabbed Sidebar Widget

You can download Calotropis 1.2.5 from googlecode repository. It’s not yet available in wordpress theme directory due to backlog in the reviewing which take days or weeks. Currently 1.2.4 is waiting to be reviewed and 1.2.3 is live in the theme directory.

Default Tabbed Sidebar Widget

For WP before 3.0 users,  it’s very important  to upgrade your Calotropis theme because 1.2.3′s bug.

Calotropis now available at WordPress theme Directory. As mentioned before, it’s supporting WordPress Navigation Menu.

It’s 3 days after i uploaded 1.2.3 . It seems the reviewing speed somehow different among themes. Some very known themes took less than one day to be reviewed, while new themes took one or two weeks.

Calotropis 1.2.1 is ready to download from googlecode repository. It’s not available yet in WordPress Theme Directory (currently ver 1.1.1.1) because the new system of Theme Review from WordPress. My other theme, Albizia Theme took about 15 days to be reviewed just to make me know that it’s not-accepted because some strict validation. Yes, the reviews are stricter now.

So, please expect Calotropis 1.2.1 to appears in the Theme Directory in one or two weeks – if it’s accepted. If not, please expect it in 1 month (with minor version upgrade of course) … ouch … But don’t worry you can always download the latest version before it’s accepted in Theme Directory by downloading from googlecode.

The New Features in Calotropis 1.2.1 are:

1. Supporting WordPress Navigation Menu.
2. Adding footer link to home site for wordpress multisite.

and few improvements:

1. Renaming sidebar to widget area and adding description.
2. Joining some CSS files into one (for better performance).

You can choose among six available sidebar layout.

1. No Sidebar

Some of you maybe not wanting any sidebar. Because no sidebar means better to be viewed in small screen, namely Phone Cell. You can still use widgets in the footer area.

2.  Sidebar 1 (Right)

This one is very common among blogger. Not only one column, but there’s wide column in top of double narrow column.  If you just want one column sidebar, fill in your desired widgets only in sidebar_right_wide. If you want two column sidebar, fill in your widgets in sidebar_right_narrow_1 and sidebar_right_narrow_2.

3. Sidebar 2 (Right)

Does the same as Sidebar 1 but the wide sidebar in the bottom of double narrow sidebar.

4. Sidebar 3 (Left)

Does the same as Sidebar 1 but the position is left.

5. Sidebar 4 (Left)

Does the same as Sidebar 3 but the position is left.

6. Right and Left Sidebar or Holy Grail

There are one left sidebar and one right  sidebar. The width are the same as Narrow Sidebar.

The good of calotropis is every sidebars actually come after the body. Even tough the left sidebar is displayed in the left of the body, the source code are come after the body. This feature is very good for SEO (Search Engine Optimization) enthusiast who wants to have left sidebar.

We employ some CSS tricks to make the left sidebar displayed in the left, although actually they come after the main body.
